Meet the Team
Daniel and Rika receiving their Gokai scroll from Master Yamaguchi after completing Shihan level training. |
Daniel and Rika first came to Reiki by learning the Westernised style as an activity they could do together. They found out about Jikiden Reiki shortly after it started to spread outside of Japan and joined one of the first courses held in the UK. Since then they have never looked back having finally achieved Shihan (Teacher) level they have now held numerous courses and also helped organise other events such as the Jikiden Reiki stand at the CAMexpo show in 2006. They are also Master Teacher grade members of the UK Reiki Federation. All of their Jikiden Reiki training was learnt directly from Master Tadao Yamaguchi, the head of the Jikiden Reiki Institute based in Kyoto, Japan who has over 40 years experience of traditional Japanese Reiki. Together Daniel and Rika make a unique team that has an excellent understanding of the thinking and culture behind the original Japanese Reiki system. As a result they are able to pass on the original methods, ideas and spirit of authentic Usui Reiki with great clarity.
About Rika:
Rika is originally from Nagoya, Japan and she has now lived in England for a number of years. In addition to being a Jikiden Reiki Teacher she is also a full time holistic therapist with a wide range of skills, specialising in clinical aromatherapy, colonic hydrotherapy and massage. Rika also translates for Master Yamaguchi from time to time when he is teaching outside of Japan.
About Daniel:
Daniel grew up in the UK and he is very active in teaching and promoting the benefits of Jikiden Reiki as well as providing treatments. When he is not practicing Reiki he works as an Arboriculturalist (tree specialist) and he is dedicated to both disciplines. His philosophy is that with Reiki he helps people and with Arboriculture he helps the environment.
About JRUK
Jikiden Reiki UK was founded by Daniel and Rika Simpson as their vehicle to carry out the objectives of the Jikiden Reiki Institute, which are:
- To publish books illustrating its effectiveness and documenting peoples experiences of Jikiden Reiki
- To enable people to use Jikiden Reiki as an effective complement to conventional medical care
- To educate doctors, nurses and other health professionals in the effectiveness of Jikiden Reiki, thereby initiating its use in the conventional medical field.
- To introduce the use of Jikiden Reiki as the method of medical care in the household. This should help to stop dependence on everyday allopathic remedies and conventional drugs. The ultimate objective here is twofold;
i) Firstly people will become healthier as their bodies start to remember how to heal themselves without external chemical substances.
ii) Secondly there will be significant reduction in the amount of medical waste, a positive
effect on the environment on a global scale.
