The following terms and conditions apply to all companies and or persons or other entities (“you”) that are attending any workshop or event (“Event”) organised by the Jikiden Reiki UK Association (“we” or “us”). Please ensure you have read and understand the following:
Agreed terms
Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
- You are agreeing to the terms and conditions set out below (“Terms”) by proceeding with a purchase to attend a particular Workshop, or Event (“Event”) and they will be incorporated into the contract between us (“Contract”). The Contract is formed when we send you an ‘Acceptance of Order’ email, confirming your place on a particular Event. These terms will apply to any future Event bookings with the Jikiden Reiki UK Association. By placing an order, you warrant that you are at least 18 years old and are a resident of the United Kingdom.
Event details
- 2. The details of any (“Event”) including the dates, timings, and venues will be stated on the ‘Registration email’, when you make the purchase, as well as on your ‘Acceptance of Order’ which will be emailed to you in the days following your purchase.
Cancellation
- All payments for Events, are non-transferable, and non-refundable, (other than as set out in paragraph 3.1 below).
3.1 If you are purchasing as a consumer (as defined in the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation, and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 – namely you are buying a virtual ticket to our event as an individual acting for purposes which are wholly or mainly outside of your trade, business, craft or profession, the following shall apply:
3.1.1. you have the right to cancel this agreement within 14 days of the date of this agreement by emailing us at info@jikidenreikiuk.com or by using the cancellation form. https://www.jikidenreikiuk.com/download/cancellation-form/ To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired. If you cancel this agreement, we will reimburse you all payments received from you in relation to the agreement within 14 days after the date on which we were informed about your decision to cancel this Contract; and
3.1.2 in relation to the provision of any services under this Contract:
- 3.1.2.1 you hereby request immediate performance of the Contract and acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal from the Contract once the service contract is fully performed; and
- 3.1.2.2 if you cancel the Contract before the services have been fully performed, you agree that you will pay for the supply of the service for the period for which they are supplied. The amount payable will be in proportion to what has been supplied, in comparison with the full coverage of the Contract.
3.2 If you are not purchasing a place at an Event as a consumer, the above provisions shall not apply.
Cancellation of the Event by Us
- There may be circumstances in which we need to cancel the Event. In such circumstances, you will receive a full refund of the Registration Fee that you have paid to us. In such a circumstance we will make every effort to provide you with such a refund within 14 days of the date of cancellation.
Postponement or change to the venue by Us
- There may be circumstances in which we need to postpone the Event or change the venue at which the Event is to be held and if we do, we shall advise you of this as soon as we possibly can. If the postponement or alternative venue is not suitable for you, you may request a full refund by emailing us at info@jikidenreikiuk.com and we shall provide you with a full refund.
Payment
- The fee for attending any Event (“Registration Fee”) will be as stated on the ‘Registration page’ or email for the relevant Event. Prices are inclusive of VAT. All payments for the Registration Fee must be made in full at the time of booking. The payment method will be detailed on the registration page.
Your obligations
7.1 If you act in any way which in our opinion is likely to cause any harm or nuisance to any person at the Event, you will be required to leave the Event and We shall not be liable to refund your Registration Fee or any other payment.
7.2 You must keep your personal belongings with you at all times and we accept no liability for any damage to, loss of, or theft of any of your belongings or other items brought to the Event by you.
Travel, accommodation, and refreshments
8.1 You shall be responsible for making and paying for your own accommodation and travel arrangements to and from the Event. If you are late at the event or prevented from attending the Event due to travel delays or any other circumstances, we shall not be obliged to provide you with a refund or to wait to start the Event until you arrive.
8.2 Meals or any food is not included in your Registration Fee. Should an option for food be offered, details will be provided to you via email, and any additional service such as food orders would be at an additional cost to you.
Special Requirements
- If you have any disability or medical condition that requires us to make special arrangements for you, please email us atinfo@jikidenreikiuk.com as soon as possible before the date of the Event.
Third-Party Venues
10.1 For an Event held in third-party venues, you agree to comply at all times with such venue’s policies and rules in relation to such venue (particularly fire safety and health and safety rules). You will be required to leave the venue if you do not comply with such policies and rules (and We shall not be obliged to refund you any amounts paid in relation to such Events).
10.2 You are responsible for the belongings that you take to an Event and neither We nor any third-party venue will be liable for any loss, damage, theft, or destruction of any of your belongings.
10.3 You agree to reimburse Us in full concerning any claim from any third party (and associated costs and expenses (including professional fees) arising out of your actions or inactions while at a third-party venue.
Confidentiality
11. Should We or a participant discuss matters that are sensitive during an Event. We will keep such information confidential. We ask all participants to do the same.
Medical disclaimer
12.1 Any information or guidance we provide is not a substitute for the consultation, diagnosis, and/or medical treatment of your doctor or healthcare provider.
12.2 You must not rely on any information or guidance we provide you with as an alternative to medical advice from your doctor or healthcare provider and we expressly disclaim all responsibility, and shall have no liability, for any damages, loss, injury, or liability whatsoever suffered by you or any third party as a result of your reliance on any information or guidance we provide you with. If you have any specific questions or concerns about any medical matter, you should consult your doctor or healthcare provider as soon as possible. If you think you may be suffering from any medical condition, you should seek immediate medical attention from your healthcare provider. Do not delay seeking medical advice, disregard medical advice or discontinue medical treatment because of the information or guidance we provide you with.
12.3 Nothing in this disclaimer will limit or exclude any liability that may not be limited or excluded by applicable law.
Data Protection
- 13. We use and process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Notice which you can view at https://www.jikidenreikiuk.com/privacy/
Intellectual Property
- 14. We are the owner or the licencee of all Intellectual Property Rights and all other rights in the materials and content that we use within any Event and nothing in this agreement or otherwise shall operate to transfer the ownership of the Intellectual Property Rights in such material or content to you or any other. You may not at any time copy, reproduce, publish in any form, share, sell, dispose of, or otherwise make available to a third party in any way any of the content or materials that we use at any Event. We grant to you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable revocable licence to use all or any of the content or material used in the Event for the purposes for which the Event was provided only.
Photography and filming
- 15. You may not without our prior written consent make any audio and/or visual recordings of all or any part of our Event(s). We may make audio and/or visual recordings of an Event with your permission.
Liability- READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY
- 16. Nothing in this agreement shall limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or by fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for any matter for which liability cannot be legally excluded or limited.
- 17. The Events shall be provided with due care, skill, and ability. Other than this, all warranties and representations are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. Due to the nature of Events, no guarantees of any particular results can be made.
- 18. There shall be no liability for any loss of profits, loss of business, depletion of goodwill and/or similar losses, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goods, loss of contract, loss of corruption of data or information, or any special, indirect, consequential or pure economic loss, costs, damages, charges or expenses suffered or incurred by you as a result of you entering into this agreement.
- 19. Our total liability for any matter arising out of the Contract shall in all circumstances be limited to the price paid by you for the Event and we shall not in any circumstances be liable to you for any consequential loss whatsoever.
- 20. If we are prevented from or delayed in performing my obligations by your act or omission or by any circumstance outside of our control (including our illness or incapacity), we shall not be liable to you for any costs, charges, or losses sustained or incurred by you that arise directly or indirectly from such prevention or delay.
- 21. The provisions of this liability section shall survive termination of this agreement.
Termination by Us
- 22. We may terminate this agreement at any time on immediate notice to you. If we do so, we will provide a pro-rata refund for any Event that you have not yet attended at the time of termination.
Waiver
23.1 If we fail, at any time during the term of a Contract, to insist upon strict performance of any of your obligations under the Contract or any of these terms and conditions, or if we fail to exercise any of the rights or remedies to which we are entitled under the Contract, this shall not constitute a waiver of such rights or remedies and shall not relieve you from compliance with such obligations.
23.2 A waiver by us of any default shall not constitute a waiver of any subsequent default.
23.3 No waiver by us of any of these terms and conditions shall be effective unless it is expressly stated to be waived and is communicated to you in writing in accordance with clause 23 above.
Severability
- 24. If any of these terms and Conditions or any provisions of a Contract are determined by any competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable to any extent, such term, condition or provision will to that extent be severed from the remaining terms, conditions, and provisions which will continue to be valid to the fullest extent permitted by law.
General
- 25. This agreement and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. The parties irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with this agreement or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
