Are Reiki healers psychic?
In traditional Reiki, practitioners do not rely on psychic ability. This is because Reiki is for everyone with any ability.
Are Reiki practitioners licensed?
Reiki is not a licensed medical practice in most countries and is taught through training lineages. In the UK, we have voluntary self-regulation set up by the Reiki Regulatory Working Group (RRWG), which became The UK Reiki Council - see https://www.jikidenreikiuk.com/verification/
What are Reiki Symbols and are they secret?
Reiki symbols are tools to assist the Reiki treatment. Jikiden Reiki students and teachers learn the original symbols and are not allowed to copy or share them.
Can Reiki be dangerous?
There are no contraindications to Reiki, tretments or classes.
Can Reiki be done remotely?
Enkaku (Distance) Reiki treatments are taught and used as part of traditional practice after training

How does Reiki energy work?
In Jikiden Reiki, Reiki is understood as energy that exists all around us and which is reconnected to through training, not manipulated by the practitioner.
What is Reiki healing?
Reiki in the Usui tradition is a gentle practice supporting relaxation and the body's own natural healing system.
When was Reiki discovered?
Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui.
What is Reiki not?
Reiki is not a medical diagnosis and does not replace your usual healthcare system in your country.

What Payment method do you accept?
We are currently accepting card payments through Stripe.

Is membership for Reiki Practitioners and teachers, or anyone?
It’s open to all jikiden Reiki students and teachers in the UK. The only requirement is to have completed Shoden (the first level of Reiki) with a Jikiden Reiki certified teacher.
I live outside the UK, but attend events in the UK and do not have such an association in my country. Can I join?
Due to insurance restrictions, we can only accept members who reside in the UK.
Do I have to get CPD’s for Member, Practitioner or Teacher level membership?
No, it is a requirement of the Verified Practitioner Members. This is the requirement of the National Occupational Standards.
How much do I have to pay to get started?

Do I have to have Professional insurance to join as a Practitioner member?
If you are a public practitioner or have a listing on our website, then yes. Full requirements can be found within our Code of Conduct document, which you will be able to view as you fill in your membership application.
Is there a special discounted professional insurance scheme available?
We have a discounted Reiki insurance block scheme through Balens LTD.

I heard there is an Accredited Practitioner Course Coming can you tell me more?
One of the main reasons for starting the JRUKA was to offer a verified practitioner course in the UK. This is recognised by the CNHC and therefore gives Jikiden Reiki practitioners the ability to be Reiki Council verified and be listed on the CNHC website. This can help when offering treatments in Health services across the UK.
How do I access the benefits and resources we get as a member?
After joining, log in to our website and go to the Members' Area Menu, where you will find all the services listed.

Yes, you can join and then find details of our block scheme with Balens in the Practitioner's Page of the Members' Area Menu.
