What is Jikiden Reiki

Jikiden Reiki is a traditional form of Japanese Reiki passed down through generations in Japan. It maintains the original teachings, practices and treatment focus that Reiki originally possessed in Japan. Jikiden Reiki is a hands-on treatment with a focus on natural healing, relaxation and well-being, without additions, changes or complications that are often seen in the West.

All the practitioners and teachers listed in the Jikiden Reiki UK Association directory have trained in authentic Jikiden Reiki, helping you connect with experienced professionals you can trust.

The Jikiden Reiki UK Association is here to help you connect with experienced professionals you can trust. Each practitioner and teacher listed in our UK directory has trained in authentic Jikiden Reiki and is certified through the Japanese Institute in Kyoto.

What happens during a Reiki session

Every Jikiden Reiki practitioner will adapt your treatment according to your needs, so no two treatments are the same. Practitioners usually begin by talking with you about how you are and why you have come to receive Reiki before clarifying what you can expect during the treatment.

During a Reiki session, you'll remain fully clothed while the practitioner places their hands on certain areas of the body. Typically, you will lie down on a treatment couch (unless this is not possible for you) and can relax comfortably during the session. Most people describe the experience as deeply peaceful, inducing a calm and relaxed state.

Sessions usually last from sixty to ninety minutes as the time varies depending on the practitioner. Before booking, make sure you contact your chosen practitioner to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. They will be happy to discuss their treatment style and what you can expect.

Benefits of Reiki

Each individual Reiki experience is unique. There are a host of reasons that people choose to receive Reiki and the results therefore vary. Some people seek Reiki simply to support them as they manage the ups and downs of life. However, most people who have experienced Reiki report some common benefits.

Those benefits include:

  • Feelings of deep relaxation and improved sleep.
  • Help in reducing the experience of stress and anxiety.
  • Boosting the body's natural healing processes.
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and meditation.
  • Recharging, unwinding, and restoring balance.

Jikiden Reiki is not intended to replace medical treatment, but many people choose to include it as part of their wellness and emotional maintenance routine.
